Pink Himalayan Rock Salt
Recommended application: Swap to this salt in your grinder.
Many salts are chemically or heat treated at staggering temperatures destroying all mineral content, but sun dried salts retain both their minerals and flavour. Pink Himalayan Salt is far superior to traditional iodized salt. Known in the Himalayas as “white gold,” Himalayan Crystal Salt contains the same 84 natural minerals and elements found in the human body. This form of salt has also been maturing over the past 250 million years under intense tectonic pressure, creating an environment of zero exposure to toxins and impurities that pervade other forms of ocean salt. Himalayan salt’s unique cellular structure allows it to store vibrational energy. Its minerals exist in a colloidal form, meaning that they are tiny enough for our cells to easily absorb.

Table salt: “The Health Destroyer”
Many people are unaware that common table saltcontains chemicals and even sugar! Salt is necessary but can be dangerous if taken in this chemical form. Table salt is composed of 97.5% sodium chloride and 2.5% chemicals like iodine and absorbents, and sugar. Common salt is dried at more than 1,200° Fahrenheit, a process which zaps many of the natural chemical structures. Table salt is void of nutritional value, lacking beneficial trace minerals. Processing salt turns it into sodium chloride, an unnatural salt the human body actually sees as a toxic invader. The body cannot dispose of it in a natural, healthy way which can lead to irritation of the tissues, water retention and high blood pressure. Processed salt crystals are also energetically dead, as their crystals are completely isolated from one another. For the body to metabolize chemical table salt, it must waste tremendous amounts of energy to keep the body at optimum fluid balance. This creates a burden on the elimination systems in the body. Water is removed from other cells in attempt to neutralize the unnatural sodium chloride. Studies show that for each gram of table salt your system cannot process, your body will use over twenty times the amount of cellular water to neutralize the sodium chloride in chemically-treated salt. This can lead to cellulite, rheumatism, arthritis, gout, as well as kidney and gallbladder stones.

Matcha Green Tea
Recommended application: ½ tsp blended in hot water, building up to 1 tsp x2 a day.
Matcha is a concentrated form of green tea, grown under shade which dramatically increases the chlorophyll and therefore antioxidant content of the leaf. With regular green tea, you throw away the leaves: like boiling spinach, throwing away the spinach and just drinking the water. Matcha contains two special amino acids called theophylline and L-theanine. Matcha contains caffeine but, unlike coffee, it works together with these two important amino acids to give you a sustained energy boost which can last 6 hours. By stimulating the production of alpha brain waves, L-theanine helps to create a state of mental alertness but keeping you relaxed at the same time. A Japanese study in 1999 found that L-theanine can help improve learning performance, promote concentration and support the immune system. The L-theanine content in tea also increases with the grade of tea, high-grade matcha having the greatest percentage of this amino acid. Green tea naturally contains polyphenols, The University of Alabama found consumption of green tea polyphenols can inhibit UV radiation-induced skin damage. It contains 137 times the antioxidants of regular green tea.  Antioxidant capacity can be measured by the ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbancy Capacity).

Weight Loss
A 1999 study found that green tea can increase thermogenesis by 35-43%.Thermogenesis raises your daily energy expenditure and that green tea ingestion can increase fat oxidation during moderate intensity exercise. So try a shot of matcha half an hour before your workout.

Bee Pollen
Recommended application: 1 tbsp per day.
Bee Pollen contains nearly all nutrients required by humans. It is rich in proteins (approximately 40% protein), free amino acids, vitamins, including B-complex, and folic acid and contains many elements that products of animal origin do not possess. It is more rich in proteins than any animal source, contains more amino acids than beef, eggs, or cheese of equal weight. Half of its protein is in the form of free amino acids that are ready to be used by the body. 1 teaspoon takes one bee eight hours a day for one month to gather. Each bee pollen pellet, contains over two million flower pollen grains and one teaspoonful contains over 2.5 billion grains of flower pollen. Bee pollen acts faster and more effectively when taken at mealtime and especially with fruit, which lets it gently, perform a little cleansing of the intestinal flora. A spoonful at breakfast, preferably taken with a piece of fruit: the fruit fibers (raw hemicellulose) reinforce the activity of the fresh pollen. Bee pollen helps inflammatory conditions and common skin irritations like psoriasis or eczema. The amino acids and vitamins protect the skin and aid the regeneration of cells.

Respiratory System - Bee pollen contains a high quantity of antioxidants that may have an anti-inflammatory effect on the tissues of the lungs, preventing the onset of asthma.

Allergies – Pollen reduces the presence of histamine, ameliorating many allergies. Dr. Leo Conway, M.D of Denver Colorado, reported that 94 percent of his patients were completely free from allergy symptoms once treated with oral feeding of pollen. Everything from asthma to allergies to sinus problems were cleared, confirming that bee pollen is wonderfully effective against a wide range of respiratory diseases.

Digestive System - In addition to healthful vitamins, minerals and protein, bee pollen contains enzymes that can aid digestion. Enzymes assist your body in getting all the nutrients you need from the food that you eat.

Immune System- Pollen is good for the intestinal flora and thereby supports the immune system. According to holistic health expert Dr. Joseph Mercola, bee pollen has antibiotic-type properties that can help protect the body from contracting viruses. It's also rich in antioxidants that protect the cells from the damaging oxidation of free radicals.

Cardiovascular- Bee Pollen contains large amounts of Rutin; an antioxidant bioflavonoid that helps strengthen capillaries, blood vessels, assists with circulatory problems and corrects cholesterol levels. Its potent anti-clotting powers could help prevent heart attack and stroke.

Prostate - Men who suffer from benign prostate hyperplasia can find relief by using bee pollen. Bee pollen can help reduce inflammation to stop frequent urges to urinate.

Infertility - Bee pollen stimulates and restores ovarian function, therefore may be used to assist in accelerating pregnancy. As well as being a hormonal booster it is also a great aphrodisiac!

Coconut Oil
Recommended application: 1 tsp per day. Switch to this oil for all cooking, soon you won’t taste it.

Broccoli Seeds
Famous for its antioxidant content. Broccoli sprouts contain 50 times the sulfurophane found in mature broccoli, so you get as much in 1 ounce of Broccoli Sprouts as 3 pounds of grown Broccoli.

Nutritional info: Vitamins A, B, C, E and K Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium, Zinc Carotene, Chlorophyll, Trace Elements, Amino Acids Antioxidants Protein: 35%

Sesame seeds
Sesame seeds are full of calcium, magnesium, copper, vitamin B1, zinc and dietary fiber. Whole sesame seeds contain about 88 mg of calcium per tablespoon of seeds. Just a quarter cup of natural sesame seeds provides more calcium than a whole cup of milk. A quarter cup of raw natural sesame seeds has 351 mg of calcium while one cup of non-fat milk has 316.3 mg, and one cup of whole milk has only 291 mg of calcium. Plus, they are alkaline whereas milk is acidic.

Sesame seeds are also rich in zinc, another mineral that has a positive effect on bone mineral density. Copper, better known for its anti-inflammatory ability shown to reduce some of the pain and swelling of rheumatoid arthritis, is also a supporter of bone and blood vessel health. Calcium can also help with migraines and provide relief for PMS. Rich in sesamin and sesamolin, fibers called lignans that can lower cholesterol and help prevent high blood pressure. They are a great source of phytosterols, plant sterols that have also been shown to lower blood cholesterol5 and improve heart health.

Keep in mind, how a food is processed and cooked changes its nutritional value. When the seed is crushed, as in tahini or sesame butter, its nutrients are more easily digested. When left whole, the seeds do not break down as well during digestion. Toasting or roasting sesame seeds alter their nutritional value. Studies show that the calcium levels are slightly higher when the seeds are toasted. For example, one could get 27 percent of their daily value of calcium in one ounce of whole sesame seeds, but 28 percent if the seeds are roasted. Likewise, one ounce of hulled raw kernels will get give you 2 percent of your daily value of calcium. That number doubles when the kernels are toasted. Toasted or raw seeds (whole or hulled) can be added to steamed broccoli (a veggie rich in calcium), stir-fried green beans, put on top of salads and in dressings, sprinkled on baked goods, and mashed and ground into condiments and spreads. Try using sesame seeds in place of acidifying breadcrumbs.

Chia Seeds
Recommended application: 1 tbsp per day.
Contain all 8 essential amino acids, are high in fibre and contain 20% Omega 3 ALA, making it a super food for the brain and heart. Chia has eight times more Omega 3 than salmon, it boasts 20% protein, which is a complete protein with all 8 essential amino acids, it is high in antioxidants (It has a four times higher ORAC value than blueberries). Chia contains five times more calcium than milk, seven times more vitamin C than oranges, three times more iron than spinach and twice the potassium of banana. It has a positive impact balancing blood glucose levels. Nutritionists recommend 1 tablespoon per day. Be sure to drink plenty of water as chia is very high in fiber.

Raw Tahini
Recommended application: consume 1 tsp per day.
Soaking seeds is superior to grinding, raw tahini is made by grinding and is therefore superior to consuming the raw seed.

Maca Root Powder
Suggested application: add to natural yoghurt or porridge.
Maca is a nutritionally dense super-food that contains high amounts of minerals, vitamins, enzymes and all of the essential amino acids. Maca root is rich in B-vitamins, which are the energy vitamins, and maca is a vegetarian source of B-12. To boot, maca has high levels of bioavailable calcium and magnesium and is great for remineralization. Maca root helps balance our hormones and due to an over abundance of environmental estrogens, most people's hormones are a bit out of whack. Maca stimulates and nourishes the hypothalamus and pituitary glands which are the "master glands" of the body. These glands actually regulate the other glands, so when in balance they can bring balance to the adrenal, thyroid, pancreas, ovarian and testicular glands. Instead of providing hormones to the body, maca works as an adaptogen which means that it responds to different bodies' needs individually. If you're producing too much of a particular hormone, maca will regulate the production downward. However, if you're producing too little, it'll regulate the production upward. Hormones regulate many things including mood, growth, sexual development, and tissue function. Hormones also play a role in many diseases, like cancer and depression.

Maca root has been shown to be beneficial for all sorts of hormonal problems including PMS, menopause, and hot flashes. Maca's also a fertility enhancer and is best known for improving libido and sexual function, especially in men. For this reason, it's earned the nickname "nature's Viagra."

Maca has a light, nutty flavor and some easy, delicious ways to consume maca powder as a food are to: Stir a teaspoon of maca in a bowl of vegetable and lentil soup before serving; sea salt and
maca root are a wonderful soup flavoring. Add a teaspoon to any herbal tea. Pour maca powder over organic, non-microwaved popcorn and flavor with coconut oil and sea salt. If you're not watching your sugar intake, mix a bit of maca powder with enough grade B maple syrup or honey to produce a wet paste, and enjoy with a spoon. It's a delicious dessert-like treat, and it's great on bananas too. If you're one who "needs" a sweet fix, this is delicious and healthy way to do it.

It's recommended to start with a 1/2 teaspoon a day, and work up to a teaspoon or two a day over the course of a few weeks. If you're taking it daily, it's best to take a day off each week.

Maca is a food staple in Peru and there are no known effects of toxicity. However, occasionally some people experience adverse effects when they start taking maca, and these symptoms may actually be
detoxification symptoms. This is because when a body more accustomed to consuming processed and cooked foods starts taking in such a nutritionally dense supplement, the body will absorb the superior nutrients it needs and "throw off" the old junk it doesn't need for elimination. If this happens, you might feel badly but it generally lasts just a few days. You may also want to consider doing colon and liver cleansing before or while taking maca to quickly remove some of the waste your body is trying to eliminate. Doing so will help with many adverse symptoms.

Spirulina
Spirulina  is a blue-green algae that grows in and around water all over the world. Usually harvested from freshwater lakes. Algae is the most basic form of life and is at the lowest rung on the marine food ladder, which is why it is packed full of nutrition. Spirulina is comprised of 60% vegetable protein, it is a complete protein containing all essential amino acids.

Other nutrients
Spirulina's lipid content is 7% by weight, and provides alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), linoleic acid (LA),stearidonic acid (SDA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and arachidonic acid (AA). Spirulina contains vitamins B1 (thiamine), B2(riboflavin), B3 (nicotinamide), B6 (pyridoxine), B9 (folic acid), vitamin Cvitamin Dvitamin A and vitamin E
It is also a source of potassiumcalcium, chromiumcopperironmagnesiummanganesephosphorusseleniumsodium and zinc.

Eases PMS
Spirulina contains a high amount of Gamma-linolenic acid, sometimes referred to as GLA.   GLA has been known to be of particular benefit to women. GLA is present in mother’s milk, and can ease the symptoms of PMS, as well as improve the quality of the skin.

Anti-Cancer Nutrient
The algae is one of the richest known sources of beta carotene, which is a potent antioxidant that may help in protecting against the onset of cancer and other diseases. It is also converted in the body to vitamin A, which is essential for healthy eyes. The most well known source of beta carotene is probably the carrot, but spirulina contains up to 10 times the concentration of carrots.

Immune System Fortifier
It actively promotes the regeneration of new blood cells in the body, meaning that wounds heal quicker and illnesses are recovered from more rapidly. It is a tonic to the system.

Improves Digestion
It has been scientifically proven that spirulina improves the entire digestive process, easing the passage of waste through the system. It is excellent at promoting heathy bacteria in the gut and can drastically boost the body’s ability to absorb nutrients from food. It has been tested in severely malnourished children in some parts of Africa, and they have shown remarkable improvement in health and weight gain..
