My story

I started having grand mal seizures (full loss on consciousness and convulsions) when I conceived my first child, Heidi in 2010. Three months after Heidi was born, I was diagnosed with a low grade glioma in the left frontal brain, which accounted for the seizures I'd been having. My epilepsy is therefore not true epilepsy but a symptom of the brain tumour.

They could not operate to remove the tumour because it is next to the speech and motor centres in my brain. If these surrounding tissues became damaged, even trying to biopsy the tumour, it could effect my quality of life far worse, than the effect of having the seizures. The treatment for me was therefore to watch and wait. 
I was not prepared to watch and wait, I wanted to prevent growth and avoid invasive treatments like radiotherapy. So I began to research and seek out naturapathic doctors.

I visited three different naturopathic doctors and got blood tests for nutritional markers and food intolerances. The results showed that I had various nutritional deficiencies and food intolerances and I was also diagnosed with leaky gut syndrome. The gut wall relates to the blood brain barrier so the idea of healing my gut to help my brain tumour was a positive idea.


In the years I have researched nutrition I found out several things that changed my view on food and supplements.


1) everyone has minute tumours all over our bodies which the immune system effectively deals with by receiving messages to destroy them. The problem is that our immune systems have become confused due to stress and poor nutrition.


2) only 5% of disease is due to genetics, the remainder is due to environmental factors and nutrition. Eating non organic food, as well as pollution comes under environmental factors. Therefore money is well spent on organic food and good quality supplements, as an investment in your health and well being.


3) we can prevent growth of mini tumours and many other diseases by alkalising our blood with various foods and avoiding acidic foods. Paradoxically lemons (which are acidic) leave an alkaline residue in the gut. They are therefore an alkaline food.
